Because we keep our groups small, places fill quickly. Once the course is full, we do not add extra candidates — this protects training quality for everyone.

✅ Prerequisites for the SSI Instructor Training Course (ITC)
To ensure safety and training quality, all professional agencies require certain minimum standards before entering instructor training. For the SSI ITC at Oceans 5 Gili Air, the prerequisites are:
🔹 Minimum Age
You must be at least 18 years old to join the Instructor Training Course.
This is the global minimum age for professional scuba programs.
🔹 Minimum Logged Dives
Before starting the course:
Minimum 60 logged dives
At least 40 hours underwater
Before taking the Instructor Examination:
Minimum 100 logged dives
At least 65 hours of bottom time
If you arrive slightly short of these numbers — no problem.

🔹 Required Certifications
Before starting the ITC, you must already be:
A certified Divemaster (SSI or any recognized agency)
You must also have:
Enriched Air Nitrox specialty at student level
And a valid:
React Right course or equivalent first-aid training
including oxygen provider training, completed within the last 24 months
If your first-aid training has expired, we can refresh it here before the course starts.
🩺 Medical Statement
All candidates must be medically fit to dive.
You will need:
A valid diving medical
Signed by a doctor
Issued within the last 12 months
Safety always comes first — for you, your fellow candidates, and your future students.
